ABSTRACT
This search is a correlation coefficient study. Our purpose was to study the relation between awareness rate of the marriageable girls about rubella and prevention from it, with their readiness for vaccination against this dicases.
The specific objectives of this study were determined. Some of the individuals represent the awareness and readiness rate to action and relation between this variables together and with individual characteristics. In this study, random sampling method was used, and 230 girls who were going to get married, were selected and referred to health center for doing premarriage test in Guilan . For data collection,a questioniare with 33 open question was prepared that was regulated in 3 sections: Nine questions were related to individual characteristics, sixteen questions about awareness rate and eight about the readiness to action rate. Descriptive and inferential statistics are used for data analysis. Results showed that mean age was 22 years and the majority of samples were housewives with guidance education.
60% had previous information about rubella that %42/76 were by personal studies, 31/74 were affected by rubella and %29/56 were vaccinated against this disease but %67/65 hadn't documented instances. These findings also showed that only %7/38 of samples gained good level of awareness and %51/3 have mean score. %76/96 of them imagined that rubella is only childhood diseases and did'nt know its symptoms, %66/52 thought that vaccination in childhood is the best way for immunity. %98/26 tended that their immunity was determined and %70/43 were ready for vaccination by one way or another even in private centers, and in %29/57 of mothers, the most important reason of their reluctance was fear of vaccine complications. Also variables such as age, education, occupation, residence, previous information and pervious vaccination with awareness and readiness to action rate persisted correlation. Results showed that between two variables of awareness and readiness to action rate, Direct correlation (=%19) was present, although this quantity was small but all persons with good awarness, have high readiness to acquire, too. Thus theory and total objective of study is approved.
