Troponin as the choice biomarker can help for the diagnosis of myocardial injury and is considered to be the nature of its early diagnosis and early treatment. Objective: Study of The relation between cardiac complication and Troponin I level in patient with neck of femur fracture in PourSina Hospital,Rasht,2012-2013 Material and Methode: In this cross-sectional-prospective study all patients over 65 years with femoral neck who fractures were referred to the hospital PourSina initially enrolled. Underlying data and cardiac risk factors,, were collected. At the time of admission and on the first and second postoperative troponin levels were measured, and finally after 4 months of monitoring mortality and adverse cardiovascular outcomes were evaluated. Results: A total of 116 patients entered the study, 62 males and 54 females with a mean age of 83.8 ± 43.78 years. Only 2 of the participants in the study were suffering from cardiac troponin above normal, have a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p=0.026), and 14 of 19 patients who had high troponin (73.7%) versus 7 out of 97 people who dead normal troponin group (7.2%) is significantly higher (p=0.0001) Conclusion: : Troponin I has ability to detect heart damage as a biomarker with high sensitivity and specificity that can be used as a variable to predict mortality and other adverse cardiovascular effect of femoral neck fracture, surgery may be used.
