In this study only the patients having pure preeclampsia with or without convulsion (eclampsia)were included deliberately. Most of the patients were poor farmers and either Primi or Parous 5 or more ,betwen 31 to 40 years of age. The most common blood group was o positive(40%)and then A positive(30%).10 Patients (18.2%)had positive family history for pregnancy induced hypertension in a close family member. The most common sign besides hypertension was periorbital edema and the prevalent symptom was related to CNS and sight. In this study 42% and 38% had elevated creatinin and uric acid level respectively .5 patients developed elevated liver enzymes ,two developed HELLP Syndrom and one patient died because of massive brain hemorrhage.}, Keywords = {}, volume = {2}, Number = {8}, pages = {1-4}, publisher = {}, url = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2035-en.html}, eprint = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2035-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Guilan University of Medical Sciences}, issn = {2383-4307}, eissn = {2423-4818}, year = {1993} } @article{ author = {.Chitnis, P.A and Sh.Maraghi, and .VaziranZadeh, B}, title = {Epidemiological & Laboratory Study on Scorpion Stings in Khuzestan Province}, abstract ={ABSTRACT: From 188 cases of scorpion stings in patients at the ages of one month to 60 years admitted to the University Hospitals , 43.1% were from rural and 56.9% from peri-urban areeas. 78.3% were admitted in the period of April to August .The lower parts of body were more exposed to the sting. Distribution of stings in both sex ( male and female ) was the same. Scorpions of Buthidae and Scorpionidae family are seen in khuzestan . From Buthidae 9 Genus and 11 Species and from Scorpionidae 2 Genus and 2 Species have been reported . The majority of Scorpion stings are Mesobuthus eupeus and Androctonus crassicauda from the family of Buthidae and Hemiscropius from Scorpionidae. In 23% the haemoglobin was under 10g/100 white blood cells. In 32.1% was above 10000/mm3 .35.8%had haemoglobinuria . In 19.3% the BUN was abnormality of BUN and haemoglobin. Potassium (k+) in 18.7% was under normal . The mortality was 8.6% and were bitten by Hemiscorpius leptours. The majority of patients who died had abnormal haemoglobin and haematocrit and also haemoglobinuria.}, Keywords = {}, volume = {2}, Number = {8}, pages = {5-12}, publisher = {}, url = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2036-en.html}, eprint = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2036-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Guilan University of Medical Sciences}, issn = {2383-4307}, eissn = {2423-4818}, year = {1993} } @article{ author = {Yaghmai, and Sanadgol, and Torknegad,}, title = {The Effects of Sunlight on Blood Pressure and Plasma Concentration of Na+,K+,T3,T4 B.}, abstract ={ABSTRACT: The exposure to light affects the biological functions of human. This Study has investigated the effects of duration of sunlight exposure on blood pressure and plasma concentration of Na+,K+,T3, T4 The subjects are two groups of workers from a construction company in Kerman . The first group (experimental )having an average of 8 Workhours in Sunshine (n=84) and the Second one (control ) working in shadow (n=77) . The two groups were identical in age ,sex ,nutrition work and geography of working area. Blood pressure was recorded by sphygmomanometer. Plasma concentrations of Na+ ,K+ were measured in fasting state by flame photometry and T3,T4 were measured by RIA methods and the following results were obtained: 1- Mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure had normal limit but were lower in expe. g and systolic blood pressure showed significant difference(P<0.05) 2- Mean plasma concentrations of Na+ and K+ were lower in expe .g and plasma concentration of Na+ showed significant difference (P< 0.01). 3- Mean plasma concentration of T3,T4 was lower in expe.g.but did not show any significant difference.}, Keywords = {}, volume = {2}, Number = {8}, pages = {13-20}, publisher = {}, url = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2037-en.html}, eprint = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2037-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Guilan University of Medical Sciences}, issn = {2383-4307}, eissn = {2423-4818}, year = {1993} } @article{ author = {}, title = {}, abstract ={}, Keywords = {}, volume = {2}, Number = {8}, pages = {21-24}, publisher = {}, url = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2038-en.html}, eprint = {http://journal.gums.ac.ir/article-1-2038-en.pdf}, journal = {Journal of Guilan University of Medical Sciences}, issn = {2383-4307}, eissn = {2423-4818}, year = {1993} } @article{ author = {.Rahimi, A and .Arasteh, E}, title = {Intra Abdominal Ectopic Pregnancies and an Interesting Case Report about It}, abstract ={ABSTRACT:  One of the rarest types of ectopic pregnancy is abdominal form which has a high mortality and morbidity rate .An abnormal case of abdominal form is presented in this article . The patient is a 30-year-old multi - parous Afganian refugee who had a history of three previous normal pregnancies and deliveries .The Fourth Pregnancy, however , had been terminated by a piece of shrapnel. The 5th pregnancy was associated with lower abdominal pain and subocclusion symptoms. This case was diagnosed as an ectopic pregnancy which was confirmed by ultrasound and radiography . In Laparatomy a loop of terminal ileum containing fetal bones was observed .It was attached to pelvic bone Stracture. These bones were resected and necessery anastomosis was performed . Brain abscess occurs more frequently in the young and in males. With more common utilization of anaerobic cultures,it has become apparent that a great many brain abscesses contain anaerobic or microaerophilic organisms such as streptococci, diphtheroids, fusiformis , or bacteroides, either alone or in conjunction with aerobic bacteria. Symptoms and signs of a brain abscess may be due to infection as well as to the space occupying brain lesion. The differential diagnosis of brain abscess include meningitis , encephalitis cerebral chronic subdural hematoma , intracerbral hematoma.
