ABSTRACT
The Purpose of this study is to compare the means of glucose area under the curve (AUC) before and after testosterone enanthate injection in men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
Oral glucose tolerance test was done in subjects selected before and after one week of testosterone injection and compared with control group.
20 men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism referred to research center of metabolism and endocrinology of Isfahan and 20 men for control group.
The results obtained showed an increase in glucose area under the curve after testosterone administration (before: 652.5 ± 102.6 VS after: 748.9 ± 149.3 mmol/l; P Less than 0.02). We did'nt find a significant difference between glucose AUC in case and control groups. This study suggests that in men with hypogonadism glucose, AUC increases after treatment with testostrone
