Abstract Introduction: There is evidence of the importance of psychological factors in the etiology of coronary artery disease Objective: To compare the character of Type-D, perfectionism and happiness in cardiovascular disease and normal subjects. Materials and Methods: Preparation of the study included all patients admitted to hospitals and specialized cardiovascular system and normal subjects accompany patients to specialize cardiac and vascular surgery in 2014 is the city of Ardabil. Sample of 240 subjects (120 patients and 120 normal cardiovascular) that were selected method and for age and education level and socioeconomic status were matched. Data from personality questionnaire D, perfectionism and Happiness Index was collected. Information obtained by using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was analyzed. Results: The results showed that the mean scores of personality Type-D, negative affectivity, social inhibition and negative perfectionism was higher in patients who received heart Happiness and positive perfectionism scores were lower in patients with heart (P> 0/05) Conclusion: Accordingly, it can be concluded perfectionism factors affecting the incidence of heart disease are and heart disease increases correspondingly reduce the symptoms of type D personality and joy of heart disease.
