ABSTRACT:
The purpose of this study was to analyse various possible risk factors and the laboratory findings in preeclamptic-eclamptic Patients in the only referral center for this kind of Patients in the province of Guilan ,whose capital city is Rasht . In this study only the patients having pure preeclampsia with or without convulsion (eclampsia)were included deliberately. Most of the patients were poor farmers and either Primi or Parous 5 or more ,betwen 31 to 40 years of age. The most common blood group was o positive(40%)and then A positive(30%).10 Patients (18.2%)had positive family history for pregnancy induced hypertension in a close family member. The most common sign besides hypertension was periorbital edema and the prevalent symptom was related to CNS and sight. In this study 42% and 38% had elevated creatinin and uric acid level respectively .5 patients developed elevated liver enzymes ,two developed HELLP Syndrom and one patient died because of massive brain hemorrhage.
