Abstract:   (710 Views)
Background Accreditation is a key tool for evaluating healthcare systems, especially hospitals, and accreditation of human resources is a priority for the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Given the need for greater participation of human resources in accreditation and the necessary reforms in the method of setting health service tariffs, there is a need for the health service tariff to be influenced by accreditation of human resources.
Objective This study aimed to investigate the effect of hospital human resource accreditation on health service pricing from the perspective of experts nationwide.
Methods This research was conducted qualitatively using thematic analysis. Participants were purposively selected from among experts in the field of health policy and accreditation, and a total of 12 quasi-structured interviews were conducted until theoretical saturation was achieved. Data were analyzed using MAXQDA software, version 2020. The analysis process included open, axial, and selective coding, which led to the extraction of main themes in the field of the relationship between human resource accreditation and health service pricing.
Results After analyzing the data from the interviews, the country's hospital human resources accreditation indicators were identified with five main themes: leadership and management, supervision and control, empowerment and development, employee recruitment, and employee support. In addition, the impact of this accreditation on tariff setting was determined using four grades: 4, 3, 2, 1, and below standard.
Conclusion The accreditation of human resources in hospitals can serve as an effective mechanism to improve the quality of services and efficiency of the healthcare system. According to the research findings, the impact of the degree of accreditation of human resources on the pricing of health services provides the basis for improving accountability, increasing motivation, and improving quality. Policymakers should design standard and measurable frameworks for accreditation of hospital human resources and include their results in the process of pricing health services.
